A suspect in a recent Tampa homicide investigation was found with a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office’s Communications Center recently received a call regarding possible shots fired near Southwick Drive in Tampa.
When deputies arrived on scene, they found 58-year-old Heidi Berberovic deceased with upper body trauma inside her residence.
Through investigative means, detectives identified the victim’s estranged spouse, 55-year-old Jasmin Berberovic, as a suspect.
Detectives located Jasmin Berberovic deceased inside a home on Tranquility Oaks Drive with a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound.
“This is a heartbreaking case of domestic violence that has left a family and community mourning,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Our detectives worked quickly to uncover the truth and locate the suspect. We remain committed to seeking justice for victims and supporting those impacted by these tragic events.”
This is an ongoing investigation, according to local law enforcement.
