A student threatened to bring a bomb to a Central Florida high school.
According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s office, 15-year-old Matthew Doerhoff, decided to send a text message saying he would bring a bomb to DeLand High School.
The Volusia Sheriff’s Office said he was arrested on felony charges of making a bomb threat and unlawful use of a communication device.
According to local law enforcement, he told deputies he sent the threat out of anger and had no intention of carrying out the bomb threat.
The Sheriff’s office reminds the community that there is zero tolerance for threats against schools in Volusia County.
