Central Florida, including Orange County will likely experience squall-like weather which has the potential for severe thunderstorms, supercell development and possibly tornadoes, between the hours of 7:00 pm Tuesday and 3:00 am, Wednesday.
The National Weather Service Forecast Office in Melbourne said, the developing squall precedes a cold front which will push eastward across the State.
Storms associated with this squall will move along the line toward the northeast around 40 mph or faster.
The hazards from these storms could include damaging down-burst winds, damaging wind gusts from 50 to 65 mph, large hail, frequent lightning, isolated tornadoes, and torrential downpours with accumulated rainfall amounts averaging around 1” with locally higher amounts up to 2” over much of the area.
The Orange County Office of Emergency Management is asking everyone to monitor local weather conditions and media broadcasts Tuesday for changing condition and update forecasts, especially during the evening hours.
