Sterling Receives Support of Mayors, Commissioners in State House Bid

Alice Sterling, candidate for Florida House of Representatives, District 33 has received endorsements from local elected officials.

Those who have endorsed Sterling thus far include Ray Valdes, Seminole County Tax Collector; Fred Brummer, Orange County Commissioner; Kenny Smith, Osceola County Commissioner; Lydia Gardner, Clerk of the Courts for Orange County; Tom Dorman, former Orange County Commissioner; John Land, mayor of Apopka and the longest serving mayor in the country; Charlene Glancy, mayor of Casselberry; Kenneth Bradley, mayor of Winter Park; Thomas Greene, former mayor of Lake Mary; Sandra Solomon, Casselberry City Commissioner; Gardner Hussey, Altamonte Springs City Commissioner; Michael Holt, former Longwood City Commissioner; and Todd Russell, former Oviedo City Commissioner.

Upon receiving the endorsements, Sterling said “I am honored to have the support and confidence of our elected leaders. I look forward to working with them to provide solutions and to maintain the quality of life that our citizens expect”.

Alice is a native of Central Florida and attended Orange County Public Schools.  She received a B.S. in Biology from the University of Central Florida (UCF).  After graduating from UCF, Alice attended the University of Alabama in Birmingham where she received a Doctorate of Optometry degree.  Alice was appointed by Gov. Jeb Bush to serve as chairman of the Florida Board of Optometry from 2001-2009 and is the Clinical Director of the Winter Springs branch of Florida Eye Clinic on Red Bug Road. Alice is passionate about giving back to the community that gave so much to her.
