President Barack Obama delivers the 2013 State of the Union address marking his second term as president at 9 PM tonight via Livestream from the White House.   The enhanced version of Obama’s speech to the nation promises high tech delivery using graphs, charts and statistics and sets the tone for Obama’s final four years in office. Local watch parties are being set up across the nation.

Here in Orlando, join Home Defender’s League, Immigrant Rights Coalition of Central Florida, and Mi Famillia Vota for a State of the Union Watch Party, 8:00 PM, Tuesday, February 12 at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 1901 East Robinson Street, Orlando, Florida, 32803.  Admission is free.

The Obama White House faces a full plate of issues and a discontent growing among the American people.  With a stagnant economy, mortgage foreclosures still  at an all time high, Bureau of Labor Statistics reporting nationwide unemployment at 7.8% ( 8% in Florida), healthcare and gun control issues top of mind, tonight’s SOTU promises to be a thriller.

News sources are vague as to the specifics of Obama’s delivery, noting that issues will include strategy for the economy, return of 34,000 troops from Afghanistan and the cursory plea to Congress to back the administration’s policies.  However, many reports indicate that the core issue of tonight’s SOTU will be the economy.

Plan to stay after for the real talkback on America’s future.
