Despite a projected budget surplus of $845.7 million for the new fiscal year, 2014-2015, state agencies have been asked once again to submit budget requests with a 5 percent reduction in recurring funds from their current year spending plans.
The budget-cutting exercise instructions were sent to agencies by Gov. Rick Scott’s budget office, notwithstanding Scott’s claim that he has turned around the budget outlook with implementation of his policies.
Budget submission from agencies are due by October 15.
