St. Cloud announces Recycling Cart Distribution Schedule

City of St. Cloud Public Services Solid Waste Division customers will begin receiving blue curbside recycling carts August 17.   The 96-gallon carts will be distributed in all areas within city limits, with about 400 blue carts being delivered Mondays through Thursdays and about 1000 blue carts delivered each Saturday through August and September.

“We are looking forward to incorporating a successful curbside recycling program within our city limits,” said Public Services Administrator Randy Jackson. “We are working very hard to make this change as convenient as possible for our customers and we encourage maximum participation. Recycling is good for the environment in that we send less waste to the landfill. The revenue that we will generate as a community will ensure that we continue to improve the magnificent quality of life that we enjoy.”

The City’s recycling goal is in line with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection goal of 75 percent recycling by 2020.

Solid Waste customers will not see an increase in fees, but all customers will have a change in collection schedules – one-day per week garbage collection, one-day per week yard waste collection, and one-day per week recycling collection. Customers may call (407) 957-7289 with any questions about the recycling program or the changes in the collection schedule.
