Tony Parker reminded us Thursday night why he has a Finals MVP.
Parker lead the Spurs with 21 points shooting 50% from the field to go along with 6 assists in a 92-88 win.
10 of his 21 came in the fourth quarter, none bigger then the one he hit with () remaining in the game.
“He did everything wrong and everything right on the same play,” James said.
With the shot clock running down and only up two, Parker fell, regained his balanced and hit a jumper around James.
The only thing more impressive than that shot was, Parker had zero turnovers against Miami’s defense.
James finished with a triple double, 18 points, 18 rebounds and 0 assists.
The reigning MVP seemed very passive and didn’t look to get his shot going. There were plenty of possessions James got into the paint but he looked to dish.
“Just looking to get guys involved, it’s my game,” James said.
While that’s all well and good, LeBron will probably adjust and look to score more in game two.
San Antonio only turned the ball over four times in game one, not allowing Miami to get out into transition.
The Heat shot 43% from the field while the Spurs only shot 41% but it was the fourth quarter that made the difference.
“They just executed better than we did,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said.
Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade who’ve struggled throughout the playoffs combined for 30 points and 7 rebounds.
“I have to do more, I realize that,” Bosh said post game.
If the Heat are going to even this series, they will need the “big 3” to play BIG. Can’t rely on James to do it all.
Game two is Sunday night, tip off set for 8pm.
