The Florida Lottery recently announced that Kelvin Staggers, of Homestead, claimed a $2 million top prize from the Ultimate VIP CA$HWORD scratch-off game.
The Miami-Dade County man chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1,195,000.
The South Florida winner purchased his winning ticket from Sunshine, located at 801 NE 43rd Avenue in Homestead. The retailer received a $4,000 bonus commission for selling the winning scratch-off ticket.
He claimed his winning prize at the Lottery’s Miami District Office.
