1. According to the anti union website HR Capitalist:

By now, you’ve probably heard about the 2007 Writer’s Guild of America Strike against the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.  The AMPTP represents the interests of the producers and the film industry.
The strike began on Nov. 5. AMPTP and WGA then halted negotiations after WGA began its strike.
Me?  I’m interested in the issues, but more interested in the winners and losers during the strike.
Losers –  Probably the writers long term, since the network will jam thousands of hours of reality TV down our throats as an alternative and never come to the table.
Winners – As usual, Oprah Winfrey.  I kid you not.  “The Oprah Winfrey Show” doesn’t employ union writers and will continue uninterrupted.  I gave Oprah a hard time a few months ago for being a taskmaster and working her PA an average of 87 hours per week one quarter.
Regardless of the work-life balance at the show, it’s good to know Oprah runs a union-free shop.

2. In her speech during a campaign stop with Obama in Iowa today, Oprah admitted:

“Over the years I have voted for as many Republicans as I have Democrats”

3. Remember McClurkin? This is the guy who emceed one of Obama’s events in South Carolina, apparently to appeal to religious extremists. Well it turns out that it was Oprah who was responsible for introducing the two! But wait, there’s more, Oprah also contributed to a certain Susan Engeleiter who ran against Sen. Kohl a few years back. This is the same Susan Engeleiter who, during the campaign, “waved a fruitcake (while talking about Kohl), considered by many to have been an antagonistic and opportunistic reference to questions regarding Kohl’s, a lifelong bachelor’s, sexuality.”

Now I admit, I support HRC for prez. I also respect Oprah’s choice to vote for Republicans 50% of the time. I even respect her choice to employ non-union only writers. However, associating herself with anti gay extremists is something else.
