The crowd roared Thursday night at the Tampa Bay Rays game as Alayna Adams, who threw the opening ceremonial pitch, reunited with her father, Lt. Col. Will Adams, who hid behind the umpire’s mask to surprise her as he came home from Afghanistan, Tampa Bay Times reported.
But first, her father, a lieutenant colonel stationed in Afghanistan for most of the past two years, appeared on the stadium video screen. He said hello and told his daughter he would see her soon, the Tampa Bay Times also reported. Â Then, Lt. Col Adams removed his mask, following Alayna’s opening ceremonial pitch.
