The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) will be conducting a Safety and Sobriety Checkpoint on Friday, September 3, 2010 beginning at 9:00 pm on Colonial Dr. (SR 50) and Calvin Avenue. Drivers should expect delays in the area.
The Florida Highway Patrol is working to combat drinking and driving offenses that continue to claim lives each year throughout the Orange County area. During the Labor Day weekend in 2009, 23 people died on Florida’s roadways. Of the 23 deaths, 13 were alcohol related.
Don’t drink and drive, have a designated driver, buckle up yourself and passengers, and remove distractions from your driving environment – together we can all make Florida’s highways safe!
