Small Nuclear Plant Inc., based in Florida, continues to grow as an Independent Power Producer in the booming small nuclear reactor market.
The company is advancing the industry with various governments, municipalities and large corporations who are looking for clean, inexpensive energy.
SNP does not design or build reactors; they assist with the financing of nuclear projects and they just signed on another supplier of reactors, Nuetronix Inc. who has two main reactors, ORCA (Off-grid Reactor for Continuous and Autonomous Application) and SLOTH (Strategic Logistical Operation for Onsite Task-Handling). They utilize the HTGR (High Temperature Gas-cooled Reactors) technology and expected to be operational in 2027-2028.
Dr. Fakhrul Islam, CEO of Neutronix, previously at Ultra Safe Nuclear Corporation, expressed satisfaction with the agreement between his company and Small Nuclear Plant Inc. “This will help our reactors move forward very quickly, SNP is unique in that they have connections with many investment bankers and groups that have deep pockets who want to see this industry get up and running as soon as possible,” he said.
SNP has signed agreements with various reactor manufacturers and Interim CEO Jon Landau said that SNP will be utilizing many existing technologies very similar to that which has been used for over 70 years in submarines and aircraft carriers which are Pressurized Water Reactors (PWRs) for both electricity and thermal generation as well as next generation reactors that will be coming to the market over the next few years such as Neutronix’s.
By installing multiple SMRs in an underground protected coolant filled enclosure they will ensure the best safety, security and servicing, according to Small Nuclear Plant Inc. The cooling systems will work alongside back-up heat powered fans to keep the reactors within safe operational levels.
SNP has been building its Board of Advisors and Directors, including many of the top nuclear people with proven records and achieving great results for many decades. SNP is continuing to negotiate Power Purchase Agreements with many governments, municipalities and large corporations to sell electricity, the company said.
