Six Orlando Residents Charged with Fraud

On Thursday, Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and the Florida Department of Corrections (DOC) arrested five Orlando residents on charges of fraud.

Those arrested are: Daimion Goldsmith, 40, Kendra Hodge, 22, Lavonda Goldsmith, 45, Geneva Legrier, 18, and Levell Jones, 64.

FDLE and FDC said that one additional suspect, Edison Filer, 48, is currently at large.

The investigation began in February 2010 when a DOC inspector reported to FDLE that Daimion Goldsmith, an inmate in the Apalachee Correctional Institution, was using stolen credit card information to steal goods and monies.

In addition, FDLE’s investigation revealed that Goldsmith and his associates used the credit card and personal identification information to obtain additional credit cards and utility services.

To date, FDLE has identified eight victims and more than $10,000 in losses.

Hodge, Lavonda Goldsmith, Legrier and Jones were arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail.

Bond was set at $10,000 each.
