Outgoing Sen. Gary Siplin will pay a $3,000 fine connected to his campaign finances, after the Florida Elections Commission (FEC) accepted a settlement with the Orlando Democrat.
Siplin’s finance reports did not fully detail the names and addresses of poll workers who received payments from his campaign totalling, $13, 000, while he accepted two $500 contributions before the 2008 primary election from Florida Phosphate CCE.
Siplin only should have taken one of the contributions from the political committee, funded by the phosphate industry, before the primary.
