Florida gubernatorial candidate Democrat Alex Sink unveiled a new two-minute campaign ad exposing her opponent, Republican Rick Scott’s long history of unethical business practices.
The ad covers Scott’s tenure as CEO of Columbia/HCA where he presided over fraudulent practices of his company, which ended up paying a $1.7 billion settlement to the government for Medicare and Medicaid fraud, three years after he left.
The ad also highlights Scott’s repeated refusal to explain why he took the Fifth Amendment 75 times in a single deposition involving the company. The ad begins by saying it follows “a money trail that leads from taxpayers wallets straight to the pockets of one mysterious man.”
