A shot was fired after a verbal argument escalated at a Central Florida store.
According to the Apopka Police Department, the verbal argument that escalated to a shooting began at the Family Dollar located on South US 441. During the dispute, the suspect verbally threatened the victim.
According to local law enforcement, when the victim left the area, the suspect followed in a separate vehicle. While both vehicles were driving, a shot was fired. The bullet traveled through the victim’s rear windshield and exited through the front windshield.
No one was injured.
Detectives and patrol officers immediately began working the case by following up on multiple leads, conducting surveillance, and gathering critical evidence. Their coordinated efforts led to the successful apprehension of the suspect.
“While we are grateful that this incident did not result in any injuries, this type of reckless and violent behavior is completely unacceptable,” the Apopka Police Department said. “Disputes should never escalate to gun violence. APD remains committed to holding individuals accountable and ensuring the safety of our community.”
