The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) is offering a new safety class for the public on women’s personal safety. The Self-Awareness and Familiarization Exchange (SAFE) is taught by a certified instructor and is only open to women.
SAFE is a personal awareness and educational program designed to teach women basic safety and awareness skills. Instructors focus on crime prevention techniques and best practices for reducing your risk of being a victim. Class instructors will demonstrate basic techniques; there is little physical activity required of participants. SAFE classes are two hours long and class size is limited to 25 participants.
NOTE: Participants must be at least 13 years of age; participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. There is no charge to attend. Sign up at www.seminolesheriff.org (please submit a separate submission for each class you would like to attend).
The deadline for each class is one week before it starts. If you have questions, please contact Kali Austin in the Public Affairs Division at 407-665-6700 or via email at [email protected]
