Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a Lakeland area residence yesterday, Tuesday, February 12, 2013, after receiving information about a possible domestic battery which occurred the night before at second Lakeland location.
Deputies learned 34-year-old Jason Lloyd and his girlfriend, 29-year-old Heather Foreman, had an argument at a residence the couple shared. During the dispute, Lloyd burned Foreman with a cigarette, and then dragged Foreman by her wrist into a bedroom.
Deputies also learned Lloyd had a pipe bomb, ammunition and drugs in the couple’s shared residence. Lloyd was located at the couple’s residence and placed under arrest for domestic battery charge. As he was being arrested, a multi-colored cylinder hanging from Lloyd’s belt loop containing cannabis was located. Deputies saw a large amount of copper wire lying on the living room floor along with other drug paraphernalia in plain view.
The State Fire Marshal’s office was contacted and officers located the pipe bomb and detonated the device. The residence was searched and numerous items of additional drug paraphernalia were located which tested positive for methamphetamine and cannabis. Deputies determined Lloyd had been maintaining the residence for drug use.
Additionally, multiple pieces of ammunition in the kitchen of the residence were located; outside, a power pole had been altered to steel electricity. Lakeland Electric representatives responded and secured the power pole and power box.
Lloyd was charged with:
