Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings today returned over $3 million in unused funds to Orange County taxpayers.
The savings have come from strict financial controls undertaken by departments and unexpended funds from multiple divisions such as, reduced outlays on capital expenditures, supplies and overtime.
Sheriff Demings said that “was extremely proud of the men and women of the Sheriff’s Office in working through the difficulties of a tight budget year, as we all exercise the fiscal responsibility entrusted to us by the public.”
The exact amount of monies returned by the Sheriff’s Office is $3,019,463.96.
