Sheriff Demings Appeals for Caution from Drivers

Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings is asking all drivers to be extra careful and alert as they pass through school zones on Wednesday, April 13.

Orange County Public School students will not be dismissed early on Wednesday, April 13, as customary, as they will be taking their FCAT test.

While OCSO will ensure that the School Crossing Guards are at their assigned posts when the students are dismissed from school, drivers should take due care, as there is a possibility that the flashing lights at school zones may not cycle correctly, due to the time change.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office will have Deputies patrolling the school crossings and school zones to ensure drivers are in compliance.
