State Senator Annette Taddeo, who is running for Florida Governor, issued a statement about reports of the Biden Administration’s negotiations with the Maduro regime for Venezuelan oil. The Biden administration has been reaching out to dictators around the world instead of pushing for increasing American oil production.
“If America was down to its last barrel and Venezuela was giving oil away for free, America still shouldn’t go to the murderous tyrannic Maduro regime for help,” Senator Taddeo said. “There are ways to reduce gas prices that don’t involve putting America and Florida at the mercy of murderous dictators. Cutting deals with dictators will cost us far more than $5 a gallon. We ask the administration to immediately clarify the objectives of this visit and unequivocally reiterate its support for the total freedom of the heroic people of Venezuela. The freedom of a people cannot be negotiated behind their backs or sold for a barrel of oil.”
Senator Taddeo made it clear where she stands. She is the daughter of an American WWII fighter pilot who gave her that true fighting spirit. When she was 17, she was forced to flee her home in Colombia where a Marxist terrorist group, funded by the Cuban regime, kidnapped her father. She eventually moved to Miami in the wake of Hurricane Andrew to help her parents rebuild. It was during those difficult months living in a motor home that she started her own business at the age of 22. She would later become State Senator.
As she runs for Florida’s top position, Governor Ron DeSantis agrees with the Democratic State Senator on this issue.
“It is wrong for the Biden Administration to beg for oil from Venezuela and legitimize Maduro’s communist regime during an official visit,” Governor DeSantis posted. “The U.S. should hold Maduro accountable while increasing domestic energy production so we won’t need to rely on hostile regimes for our energy needs.”
