Seminole County Solar Co-op One Step Closer to Bringing Solar To Community

The Seminole County Solar Co-op 2022 has selected 3 Guys Solar to install solar panels for the growing group. Co-op members selected 3 Guys Solar through a competitive bidding process over eight other firms. The solar co-op is open for new members in Seminole County and Winter Park until June 1st, and currently shows 78 members have joined.

“Millions of Americans have done the math and concluded that investing in solar power generates a double-digit annual return on investment, collected monthly,” said Claudio Brito of 3GuysSolar. “Solar payments are $50 to over $200 less expensive per month than your current electric bill. New Solar systems save money over the power company every time!

Solar United Neighbors expands access to solar by educating Seminole County and Winter Park residents about the benefits of distributed solar energy, helping them organize group solar installations, and strengthening Florida solar policies and its community of solar supporters.

Co-op members selected 3 Guys Solar because of competitive pricing and equipment quality.

“I was very impressed with the ease and efficiency of the selection process,” said Barb Wayne, co-op selection committee member. “I admit I was skeptical that we could make our selection in less than two hours. But SUN did all the hard work. We finished ten minutes early and all on the committee were satisfied that we had made the right decision.”

“I was honored to be a part of the Selection Committee,” said co-op member Joseph Sullivan. “The meeting was very informative and well run with attention to co-op member desires, addressing questions and keeping the  meeting moving. The bidders would be pleased to know that the down select process was run professionally with concrete technical and business topics driving the eliminations.”

“The selection of an installer by the co-op members themselves is one of the most gratifying parts of joining a co-op,” said Sharon Lynn, League of Women Voters of Seminole County. “It’s a fitting activity for League support since it’s democracy in action.”

The solar co-op is free to join and joining the co-op is not a commitment to purchase panels. 3 Guys Solar will provide each co-op member with an individualized proposal based on the group rate. By going solar as a group and choosing a single installer, members can save on the cost of going solar and have the support of fellow group members and solar experts at Solar United Neighbors.

The group will host its final virtual information session on Tuesday, April 26th, at 6pm. Again, the co-op is open to new members until June 1st. Seminole County and city of Winter Park residents and small business owners interested in joining the co-op can sign up online.
