Bill Segal was surrounded by dozens of local small business leaders Monday morning as he unveiled the “Segal Jobs Plan”. It includes 27 ways to bring new, high-wage jobs to Orange County and protect the jobs already in place.
“This is the most comprehensive jobs plan released by any of the candidates,” said Bill Segal, one of the candidates in the race for Orange County Mayor. “I used my 36 years of business experience to craft this plan. And, more importantly, I was helped by some of the brightest small business leaders in the country.”
One of the business leaders was Waymon Armstrong, President of ECS, Inc. ECS is based in East Orange County and focuses on high-tech military training, known as modeling and simulation. In May, Armstrong was named “Small Businessman of the Year” by the US Small Business Administration.
One of the most significant points of the plan is a property tax rebate for small businesses that hire a new full time employee who makes more than the county’s median wage.

Earlier this month, Segal received the endorsement of key legislators of the African-American community. In an exclusive interview recently with West Orlando News Online, Segal said, he is committed to the revitalization of the Pine Hills area, as a vital part of Orange County, should he become the county’s next mayor.
