Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida recently welcomed two new members to its Board of Directors: Julie Butterstein and Yolanda McLeod Terry.
A long-time advocate and supporter of the food bank, Butterstein will continue her family’s involvement with Second Harvest; they have donated, volunteered and attended events for years. Her husband also served on the board for eight years.
“As a proud mom raising two young men, my hope is that they become caring, giving individuals who make a difference in the community they call home,” said Butterstein. “I hope we’ve planted those seeds throughout their lives, especially in our support of Second Harvest. It’s an honor to expand my service in the fight against hunger with this board appointment.”
As SVP, Private Client Advisor for Bank of America Private Bank in Winter Park, McLeod Terry works with a diverse group of ultra-high net worth clients who are focused on fiduciary investment management and philanthropy; next-generation wealth education; trust and estate planning services; and credit and lending solutions.
McLeod Terry advocates for many causes impacting our community, such as women’s rights – especially through financial empowerment – as well as diversity and inclusion issues. She is board chair of WOW Legacy Group Inc., and active in Bank of America’s Black Executive Leadership Council, Central Florida Black Professionals and LEAD for Women. She says joining Second Harvest’s board allows her to pursue a new type of advocacy.
“Women are at the heart of what I do,” she said. “Second Harvest and its network of partners distribute enough food for 300,000 meals a day, and many of those reaching out for assistance are mothers. I’m driven to make sure fewer women are having to make difficult decisions about how to afford feeding their families.”
McLeod Terry earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and an M.B.A from the University of Central Florida.
