SeaWorld Announces ‘Retirement’ of Chief Transformation Officer

SeaWorld recently announced that Michelle ‘Chelle’ Adams, Chief Transformation Officer of SeaWorld Entertainment, intends to “retire from SeaWorld in order to pursue personal opportunities,” after only 7 months in the position.

Adams came to SeaWorld as Chief Financial Officer in summer 2022, and just a few months later became Chief Transformation Officer. Now, a few months later, Adams’ departure from SeaWorld is effective August 4th, 2023.

“I appreciate the opportunity to have been part of the SeaWorld team and am proud of all we have been able to accomplish together,” Chelle Adams said. “I look forward to watching the Company as it continues to execute its plans and realize the meaningful opportunities to increase value to stakeholders over the coming quarters and years.”

Adams will be available to the company over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition, the theme park company added.

“On behalf of the entire Company, we want to thank Chelle for her contributions to the Company and wish her well,” Marc Swanson, Chief Executive Officer of SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc. said in a short statement with the announcement.

SeaWorld is, of course, one of Orlando’s leading theme park and entertainment companies, and it will be interesting to see what impact this loss will have on the company. Prior to coming to Orlando, Adams had previously worked at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas for nearly a decade.
