Orange County detectives are searching for a Hispanic male who dragged a woman into a wooded area near Goldenrod Road on Orange County’s east side on Tuesday night and attempted to rape her.
Deputies say they were approached by a hysterical female in the parking lot of Winn Dixie at Curry Ford and Goldenrod, where a female victim told them that someone attempted to rape her.
The victim said that she went for a walk when she was approached from behind at the intersection of Quail Pond and Goldenrod Road. The suspect grabbed her, spoke in Spanish and pulled her into a wooded area where he attempted to rape her. The woman fought back and was able to run for help.
The victim is 21-years-old. She told deputies that the suspect should have fresh scratch marks on his face.
The suspect is described as Hispanic, about 5’7″ – 5’10” tall, about 120 pounds, in his early 20s and has curly black hair, with a dark olive skin tone. He was last seen wearing dark pants, a white or light gray short sleeved tee shirt with an unknown logo on the front.
Detectives do not believe that this crime is related to the last two east side incidents where women were approached by men attempting to lure them into a car. Also, they do not think that this case is connected to the “East Side Rapist” cases.
