Search for New Orange Schools Superintendent Almost Over

The School Board will select and approve a new Superintendent of Orange County Public Schools at a special meeting Thursday, March 15.

The search is down to final interviews with three finalists: John Edwards, Area Superintendent, North Learning Community; Renee Foose, Deputy Superintendent for Baltimore County Public Schools; and Barbara Jenkins, Deputy Superintendent to Mr. Ronald Blocker, outgoing Orange County Superintendent.

Blocker, who has led the Orange County Public Schools District since July 2000, will leave office at the end of the current school year.

See what outgoing Superintendent Ronald Blocker had to say about the challenges facing OCPS, the achievement gap, teacher merit pay, charter schools and more in an interview with West Orlando News Online.
