She has been missing from Orange County for nearly 15 years, but authorities in Tulsa, Oklahoma began excavating at least two places Sunday, in search of Ashani Karin Creighton.
Ashani went missing in 1997 and authorities believe she was likely killed in 1999, tulsaworld.com reports.
Authorities also say, Ashani was abducted and taken to Tulsa, where she may be buried beneath a strip mall and parking lot.
The child, who was 5-year-old, was in the care of her grandparents, Kaia and Ernest Jackson, when she went missing.
So far, the search has not yielded the little girl’s remains.
