Maybe it’s no surprise, but Gov. Rick Scott said Tuesday he won’t have to spend his own money when he runs for re-election in 2014. And run he will.
Scott said again on Tuesday that he plans on seeking re-election, and this time around he won’t have to go it alone, financially that is.
“I won’t have to,” Scott said.
In 2010, Scott spent $75 million, most of it his own, to defeat Democratic rival Alex Sink.
As head of the party, Scott said he expects to be aided in his upcoming re-election bid, of which he had no doubts.
“I’m running for re-election,” Scott added. “I like this job. This is the best job you can imagine.”
