On behalf of the Dr. P. Phillips Orlando Performing Arts Center, Hines, the project’s development manager, collaborated with Lane & Company – a community-based ensemble group of voices specializing in sacred music and Negro spirituals – to present a Summer Cultural Concert Series. Under the direction of Conductor Terrence Lane, the ensemble performed for more than 200 guests in the Orlando City Hall rotunda on Sunday, July 19.
The concert was free to the public with the donation of a school supply.
More than 500 items were collected and will be donated to the Holden Heights Community Center. City of Orlando Commissioner Daisy Lynum and Orange County Commissioner Bill Segal attended the performance with school supplies in hand.
The next concert in the series will take place later this summer and will be announced soon.
