School Crossing Guard Helps OCSO Arrest Drive-By Shooter

A quick thinking school crossing guard who observed a shooting between two vehicles and notified a Florida Highway Patrol in the area, led to the arrest of a convicted felon earlier this morning, Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies said.

According to OCSO:

At approximately 8:18 AM today, a school crossing guard (at Powers Road/Jennings Street) flagged down an Florida Highway Patrol Officer in reference a shooting between two vehicles.  The Trooper saw one of the vehicles, and notified the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.  The trooper was able to follow the vehicle at a safe distance until Orange County deputies arrived.  A felony stop was conducted and the passenger of the vehicle was identified as the shooter.  He was arrested and transported to BRC without further incident.  The firearm was located inside the vehicle and submitted into evidence.  The recovered firearm, a 9mm weapon, was originally reported stolen to Orlando Police Department.    Further investigation continues as other charges may be pending.

Henderson Allen Bridges, 28 years, has been charged with grand theft of a firearm, carrying a concealed firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and unlawful discharge of a firearm from a moving vehicle.
