A South Carolina woman who told police on Monday that she was involved in a car accident confessed on Tuesday to killing her two toddlers before driving off a boat ramp.
Shaquan Duley told law enforcement officers that she suffocated her 18-month-old and two-year-old boys before driving her car into a South Carolina river, as she couldn’t take care of them and just wanted to be free, reports the nydailynews.com.
Duley told sheriff’s deputies that she was going through a difficult situation, had financial woes and was currently unemployed.
The bodies of Deavean C. Duley, 2, and Ja’van T. Duley, 18 months were recovered from the river on Monday, after divers pulled the car from the river.
Duley, 29 years, was charged on Tuesday with two counts of murder.
