The City of Sanford will today receive the peace torch from World Harmony International, a global torch relay, which seeks to promote international friendship and understanding, amongst people of varied beliefs, different views, faiths and traditions to create global harmony.
Commissioner Patty Mahany, Vice-Mayor, will receive the peace torch from World Harmony runners and students of Page private school during a ceremony at City Hall at 1pm today acknowledging the importance of world harmony and peace.
Every other year, World Harmony Run takes place in more than 100 nations on 6 continents, sharing a positive message that world harmony and peace starts in the hearts of each person where it spreads to the family and community. This year the World Harmony will run through all 50 states and will arrive in Central Florida today, April 30, 2012.
