Sanford Police Explorers Earn Top Honors

Two Sanford Police Explorers were recognized for outstanding performances at the Central Florida Law Enforcement Explorer Academy.

A total of 73 Explorers participated in the Academy and received instruction on many aspects of law enforcement to include patrol techniques, investigations, crime scene, and defensive tactics.

The Sanford Police Department Explorers recognized as top achievers in the academy were, Janae Tyler, Best physical fitness for females and Sem Santiago for Top Shot in firearms.

Officer Joshua Memminger leads the Police Explorer Program which is sponsored by Boy Scouts of America.

The Explorer Program is opened to our young citizens ages 14 – 20.
