A marked Sanford police vehicle was shot several times during the early morning hours on Tuesday.
The vehicle was in a parking lot of the Bentley Elementary School located at 2190 Oregon Avenue.
Police said the marked police vehicle was in the parking lot to serve as a deterrent to tour buses using the school property to park during the day and evening hours.
The vehicle was fired on several times around 4:30 a.m., by unknown persons.
Sanford police said there were no injuries and the shooting is currently under investigation.
