A 13-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with armed robbery of a Citgo Foodmart and attempted armed robbery of a Shell Gas Station, Sanford police said Friday.
Trayvon Whittaker, 13, is accused of robbing the Citgo Foodmart at 1300 W. Airport Boulevard on Tuesday night. Investigators say, the kid brandished a firearm at the store clerk and demanded money. Â The suspect fled on foot after he receiving an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police say, Whittaker also attempted to rob the Shell Gas Station at 1600 W. Airport Boulevard on Monday night, by also brandishing a handgun. This armed robbery attempt failed.
