The manager of a motel on south Orange Drive was arrested on Thursday, accused of allowing prostitution and drug dealing to take place at the location, Sanford Police said.
43-year-old Samir Morar, the manager at the Fountain Lodge motel located at 2706 south Orlando Drive was taken into custody, after police executed a search warrant on the property around 5:30 am.
Morar, who was on felony probation, was charged with keeping a house for rent for prostitution.
Also arrested were: Jerome Gibson for possession of cocaine; Mavric Johnson for possession of Cannabis; Amanda Howington for possession of Cannabis and James Edmonds for dealing in stolen property and petite theft.
Edmonds was arrested after he retrieved a cell phone that one of the police officers had dropped, inadvertently. He tried to get paid from a police officer in exchange for giving up the phone.
