Senator Siplin will host a town hall meeting today, June 27th, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Sanford City Hall in the Commissioners Chambers.
The meeting will focus on housing and economic development in the Sanford area. Proposals will be presented by the City of Sanford, Sanford Housing Authority, Sanford Dream Center, Professional Opportunities Program, Inc., Central Florida Urban League and more.
Senator Don Gaetz (R-Destin), incoming Florida Senate President, and Senator Chris Smith (D-West Palm Beach), the incoming Democratic Leader, will both be in attendance. Several other Florida senators will also be present, including Republican Deputy Majority Leader, Senator Lizbeth Benaquisto (R-Ft. Myers), Senator Oscar Braynon (D-Miami Gardens) and Senator Rhonda Storms (R-Brandon). The senators will review the economic proposals and seek state funding to begin implementation.
