Sanford Cop Son Who Beat homeless Man, Surrenders (Video)

Justin Collison, 21 years, the son of a Sanford police officer, caught punching a homeless man to the ground in early December, turned himself over to law enforcement on Monday morning.  Collison, who has been charged with aggravated battery, is in the Seminole County Jail, without bond.

Many in the community are outraged that Collison was not arrested sooner.  A warrant was issued for his arrest last week.  Now, the NAACP is looking into why Collison was not taken into custody sooner.

On the video you could see Collison punching Sherman Ware, the homeless man, to the ground and hear by-standers imploring him to stop.

After Collison has punched Ware to the ground, some angrily ask him, “What did this guy do to you?”  Others tell Collison, “We got it all on video too”.

Meanwhile, cfnews 13, is reporting that Sanford Police Chief, Brian Tooley, has been relieved of his position with immediate effect, over his poor handling of Collison’s arrest for the beating of Ware.
