The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) today announced the arrest of a Sanford fraud detective.
26-year-old Jordan Cox, of Sanford, has been charged with one count of disclosure of confidential criminal justice information, a third degree felony.
Cox, currently employed as a detective with the Department of Financial Services Division of Insurance Fraud, is accused of leaking confidential criminal information to the target of a criminal investigation, FDLE said.
FDLE also said, after an intensive investigation, agents were able to develop probable cause that alleged Cox had sent a letter to the target of the investigation, informing the target of confidential case information.
Cox was arrested without incident. Bond was set at $2,000.
