Salvation Army Women’s and Children’s Shelter in Orlando Opens

After renovations, The Salvation Army women’s and children’s shelter in Orlando opened, offering support to those experiencing homelessness.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer joined City Commissioner Regina Hill and Orange County government leaders to celebrate the completion of renovations, which were made possible through Orange County funding.

Now the City of Orlando plans to invest in The Salvation Army through the Accelerate Orlando Initiative to modernize its men’s shelter and provide daytime access and services to address the needs of unsheltered residents.

City officials are hoping that together, the community can continue to help those in need find shelter, housing, employment and support, while fostering hope, well-being and empowerment.
