Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) is open to the idea of not granting student visas to young foreign Muslims wanting to come to the United States for study.

Rubio told host Neil Cavuto on Wednesday he was willing to consider the suggestion from Fox News Host Bob Beckel that, anyone who observes Islam should not get a student visa.

On Thursday morning, Rubio stood by his comments in an interview with Fox News host Martha MacCallum, according to thinkprogress.org

“No one has a right to immigrate to the United States. No one has a right to visit the United States and no one has a right to get a visa to study in the United States,” Rubio said.

Rubio’s comments came in the aftermath of the Boston bombings by the Tsarnaev brothers, neither of whom came to the country on student visas.
