It won’t be a typical practice session but this workout should help get players warmed up for their big game the next evening in St. Petersburg.
As part of a community service project sponsored by Under Armour and ESPN, about 90 participants in the Under Armour All-America Football Game will be tossing sod at the Robinswood Middle School playing field. The old field was scraped clean, leveled and prepped for the new grass last month. Several contractors and volunteers donated their time and services to get the work done.
The field will be dedicated afterward in a ceremony attended by School Board Chairman Bill Sublette, Superintendent Ronald Blocker, Orange Mayor Teresa Jacobs and Orange County Sheriff Jerry L. Demings.
The players will begin laying sod at 2:00, following which there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony to dedicate the new field.
