Robbery at Checkers Drive-In Restaurant

A man walked up to the window at Checkers on Saturday, January 16th around 6:45 pm, demanded money from the cashier, all the while implying that he had a gun in his pocket.  He fled the scene in an unknown direction, once cash was handed over and remains at large.

The suspect walked up to the front service window of the Checkers at 5503 South Semoran Boulevard and asked for a drink.  He then demanded money from the registers and kept his right hand in his pants pocket while talking to the cashier and manager.  He implied a firearm but none was ever seen.  The manager handed him cash and the suspect fled. The employees did not see which direction he came from or fled toward.

The suspect is described as a while male, in his 20s, about 5′ 6″ to 5′ 8″, wearing a black skull cap, jeans and a dark gray t-shirt.  He had a gray or silver BMX style bike with him and very bad teeth and perhaps a reddish-blonde goatee, and green eyes.  He was not a Hispanic male and one of the witnesses said he smelled of alcohol or beer.

From the video it was determined that the suspect sat at one of the outside tables until there were no customers.  He sat there for at least 8 minutes before he approached the front window. He fled on his bike at approximately 6:47 p.m. north from the Checkers in the parking lot.
