Road Designated to Honor Slain Orlando Officers

Today, the Florida House of Representatives passed SB 368, Transportation Facility Designation, unanimously off the House floor. In this bill, two road designations will create the “Lieutenant Debra Clayton Memorial Highway” and the “First Class Deputy Norman Lewis Memorial Highway” to honor their service and sacrifice on behalf of Floridians.

This bill designates a portion of S.R. 438 between John Young Parkway and Pine Hills Road in Orange County as “Lieutenant Debra Clayton Memorial Highway” and the portion of C.R. 431/Pine Hills Road between Silver Star Road and S.R. 50 in Orange County as “First Class Deputy Norman Lewis Memorial Highway.”

“This is a small token of how our community plans to honor the legacy of our two fallen public servants,” said Representative Kamia Brown. “The devastation of their loss extends to each and every individual within our community and we will forever remember their contribution to Central Florida. I am very pleased that this bill passed and I look forward to celebrating the implementation of the road designation with the community in the coming months.”
