Rick Scott caught up in another major Medicaid scandal

ScottfinalLast week, Gov. Rick Scott appointed a new finance chairman for his campaign, Miguel Fernandez.  This week, Mr. Fernandez returned the favor writing a $1 million check to Scott’s re-election committee, the dailykos.com reports.

And what did Mr. Fernandez get for his whopping $1 million?

As it turns out, Fernandez partly owns two companies that just won contracts potentially worth billions, to serve Medicaid patrons in regions across the state, dailykos.com also reported.

Scott was co-founder and CEO of Columbia/HCA when the company was fined a record $1.7 billion in fines, penalties and damages for Medicare fraud.  It remains the biggest Medicare fraud case in U.S. history.  Scott pleaded the Fifth 75 times.
