In late February, a sinkhole opened up under Jeffrey Bush’s bedroom in Seffner and killed him, and now, government documents reveal more details on the sinkhole’s dimensions and government efforts to stop it.

According to the documents, the sinkhole was 15 by 20 feet with a “disturbed area” of about 50 feet. Geologists at the scene concluded the sinkhole formed through natural causes, “as fine grain sand eroded away during rain or other water events,” documents show, Tampa Bay Times reported.

The structure of 240 Faithway Drive was also discussed in the report, which notes that the welded wire fabric among the pieces of slab recovered by workers was corroded, allowing the slab to “fail and drop,” the paper also reported.
