A bill to remove restrictions placed on Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNPs) and which will give more options to Floridians as to where they obtain health services was on filed on Thursday.
State Rep. Daphne Campbell (D-Miami), who filed House Bill 4104 said, the bill would reverse certain restrictions concerning the supervision of ARNPs.
“Florida has an interest in ensuring its citizens have access to high quality health care,” said Campbell in a statement. “To meet these goals, the state should reduce any unnecessary restrictions that prevent patient access to health care services provided by Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners and fully empower these professionals who have been educated and trained to provide that care.”
The bill would ease reliance on costly hospital emergency room visits and not impose any additional financial burdens on the state, Campbell said.
Campbell is a registered nurse and has practiced in critical and long term care areas for about 30 years.
