Rep. Brise elected as Vice Chair of Fla. Black Caucus

Representative Ronald Brisé (D-Miami) has been elected by the members of the Florida Legislative Black Caucus to serve as the Vice Chair for the 2009-2010 term. The Caucus is a not for profit organization comprised of black legislators. It champions legislative as well as community issues that affect less fortunate constituents of the State of Florida.

Representative Brisé has been on the forefront of the movement to assure that less fortunate communities are not neglected and will be able to further the cause of underserved Florida communities as the Vice Chair of the Caucus. As the first Haitian-American to serve in the capacity of Vice Chair, Representative Brisé will also bring a special perspective to the mission of the Caucus. Senator Gary Siplin (D-Orlando) is the Chairman of the Caucus and has been serving in the Legislature since the year 2000.

“The matters affecting our minority communities concern me and I look forward to bringing attention to these issues on both a state and nationwide platform.” –Rep. Brisé
